This weekend concluded the tour de Becca’s birthday that I painfully made everyone in my life go through. I think I successfully celebrated my birthday for the entire month of May–woohoo! Nick asked me on Sunday what we were celebrating with my family that day. I told him my birthday and he said, “okay, okay, it’s June 3rd and your birthday was 5 days ago. I think we’ve done enough celebrating”…insert eye rolls! I’ll remember that when his birthday rolls around in September.
I kicked off the weekend on Thursday at happy hour at Ça Va. Not pictured are the most amazing fries–nothing, and I mean nothing, goes better together than fries and bubbly! I love everything about this place!
Birthday flowers still going strong! We spent Friday night at our good friends house. They made us dinner and a funfetti cake for my birthday–I should mention that they just had a baby 2 months ago. Why on earth were they cooking for us?! Such a nice night with great food! Saturday, Nick and I went to Health House to work out and then I accidentally took a 3 hour nap. Oh my gosh, was that needed and SO amazing. I forgot how good a nap feels.
Saturday afternoon/evening, my girlfriends and I did what I like to call a bev crawl (aka beverage crawl). Although really it should have been called and all you can eat and drink crawl. I love to explore and try new places in other cities and sometimes I forget about all of the good places my own city as to offer!
Stop #1 – Brown & Loe / drink – french 75 / food – oysters (for the other ladies, not a fan!), pretzel, french fries
Stop #2 – SoT / drink – french 75 (I considered other drinks but could not resist the cup it was served in. And bonus–I found a similar glass to order here)
*Unfortunately their patio was closed but I have been before and love their outdoor drinking area. This is such a fun place to drink and they have very innovative cocktails. First time on the street car–so fun, clean, and convenient. We rode it from Brown & Loe to SoT.Stop #3 – Antons / drink – can’t remember the name but it was basically a french 75 martini (are you catching a theme here?!) / food – bread basket (the honey butter is so good!)
*Their patio is so nice! Tons of picnic tables and a cool water feature. It’s also dog friendly!
*If you can snag a spot on their patio (which is constantly poppin’), you’re in luck!
Sunday we spent the day at my parent’s swimming and hanging out! I forgot how much I love swimming at their house. Enjoyed my second funfetti cake of the weekend (YUM!) and finished my birthday celebrations. Sunday night, I made Half Baked Harvest sheet pan fajitas–SO good! This will definitely be in a regular rotation at our house. Have a great week! It’s a short one for me (thank goodness) as I head to Chicago for my girlfriend’s bachelorette party–wooh!
