What a weekend!
My BFF, Lo, was visiting from New York and we had a fab girls night to celebrate on Friday. We did a champagne tasting. Our lovely, sommelier, Christina, got three different types of bubbly and had us taste test blindly. We tried Mionetto Prosecco (lower price point), Mumm Napa Brut (mid price point), & Moet Brut (higher price point). I’m not the type of person who can easily tell between a $10 bottle of wine and a $50 bottle of wine (hello to my friend, Franzia), but tasting side by side, it was pretty obvious which was on the cheapest! However, the Mumm Napa & the Moet were super hard to tell. Regardless, we all liked (and keep in mind, we all have way different pallets) like the Mumm Napa the best. Which is great because we don’t have to pay $50 to get it!
We made pasta (Pioneer Woman pasta all vodka), salad, & bread. The pasta was good but I feel like I’ve made better before! But honestly, after 4+ bottles of champagne, my cooking probably wasn’t the best! ha!
On Saturday, we spent the day in Lawrence – breakfast at the new McLain’s and lots of play time with H. Saturday night, we celebrated my BIL’s birthday at Rye and then had drinks at the Green Lady Lounge after. I had never been and it so cool! I literally walked in and felt like I was in a different era–jazz music, dim lighting, and fun cocktails! I had the Gin Flower drink and it was amazing! I definitely want to try to recreate at home–gin, simple syrup, elderflower liquor, lime juice, and prosecco. YUM!
Sunday was spent running errands and I got my nails done. I always dread spending 1 hour+ at the nail salon so I wait until the very last minute! Is anyone else this way? I feel like I could be doing a thousand other things more productive. My sister’s gender reveal is this weekend and I think subconsciously I got blue nail polish because I think she’s have a boy! We ended the weekend celebrating our friend, Brandon’s, 30th birthday! It was a great way to end such a fun weekend.
Now on to Monday, let’s hope I don’t fall asleep mid day! 🙂 Have a great one!
