February Reads

I love these color blocked book shelves from the Glitter Guide.

I would be completely disingenuous if I said I had actually finished any books in February. I think coming off of January and reading so much, I was super eager to read a bunch of new books. Turns out, my ADD and busy schedule got the best of me. I started to read three books during the month and have yet to finish any. Here’s to hoping I can get caught up in March!

My sister introduced to me a cool app for book readers: Good Reads. The app allows to track books you’ve already read and books you want to read.  You can also view other people’s reviews of books and the app recommends books to you based on your preferences and reviews of other books. I feel like I’m always seeing people recommend books and I love using it for tracking the ones that I want to read next!

Books started this month:

  • Talking As Fast As I Can (by Lauren Graham) – if you have any interest in her life or her thoughts on playing Lorelai Gilmore on Gilmore Girls or Sarah Braverman on Parenhood (clearly, I do!), this book will be good for you!
  • Little Fires Everywhere – this one was on Reese Witherspoon’s book club (if you’re not following on Instagram, you should!). I have had multiple people recommend this one. I’m not far enough to provide any deep thoughts but the first few chapters are good!
  • Darker: Fifty Shades Darker – At the end of November, E.L. James came out with the second Fifty Shades book but from Christian’s perspective. I saw the last Fifty Shades movie the weekend it came out and of course wanted to start this after watching it! I feel like it’s different enough from the second book told by Ana to still be interesting. If you’re a fan of Christian, I would read!
