I hope you all had a great weekend. I think the better the weekend, the harder it is to go back to work on Monday, unfortunately! As some of you may have seen on instagram, Nick and I finished Parenthood this weekend–wow, wow, wow! I have a problem where I get so obsessed with shows that I feel like the characters are my friends/family and that they should be carrying on their show personalities and lives in real life (is this a real thing and do others suffer from this as well?!). This show is one of my absolute faves. It’s a feel good, real-life, emotional series that I am so sad is over for me now…until I re-start from season 1 in like a week. Needless to say, I had a great weekend but all of the crying I did over the show (I wish I were kidding, ha!), left me pretty exhausted. Not to mention the bags under my eyes are no joke!
Friday night, Molly, came over and we made pizza and drank wine! Did you know Spin Pizza sells their dough? A friend told me about this a few weeks ago and I decided to try this weekend. It makes “homemade” pizza so easy and it is so good! We made mozzarella, basil, & cream cheese pizza. I don’t think there is ever a time that I don’t add cream cheese when I’m making pizza at home (#pizzashuttle).
On Saturday, I celebrated my friend, Lauren’s, 30th birthday! We went to Char Bar for brunch and I got the fried chicken and waffles (I substituted the a tender for a wing–I’m not a fan of bone-in chicken, especially not with waffles!). The chicken was amazing but I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce. I am definitely not writing this place off though. Their sides, cornbread, and fried chicken bites are so tasty! And, their patio is amazing on nice days.
I made her What’s Gaby Cooking Slutty Brownies–layers of cookie dough, oreos, and brownie. Can I get an amen?! These are unreal. I used boxed brownies vs. homemade and they always turn out great!
- The weather was perfect on Saturday and took Mr. B to the park in a stroller…I kid, I kid (although Nick and I saw a dog stroller at Home Goods this weekend and had I been by myself, it would have been coming home with me). We took my nephew to the park and B decided to rest in his stroller while we played. Any chance he gets to be the baby, he takes it!
Saturday night, Nick and I had a date night at one of my favorite restaurants in KC, North! Both of us have been sick on and off through January so it was so nice to be able to get out since we are both feeling better.
Sunday was spent recovering from the Parenthood depression and all of the eating and drinking.
Hope you all had a great weekend!
