I’m throwing it back to last April when I had the great pleasure of helping host my bestie (since 7th grade!), Molly’s, bridal shower with her sister-in-law, Rosa, and our best friend, Lo. Molly has amazing style , is so creative, and always makes things look so flawless. Needless to say, we all wanted her shower to be perfect for her! One thing I always try to do when planning parties is to add personal touches specific to the guest of honor. So for Molly, it was a no brainer – a cheese board on steroids, Prosecco flowing, & lots of flowers.
I have to give my girl, Lo, credit because she not only taught me how to make an amazing cheese board but she also was crucial in getting this one executed. So much so, that we didn’t have any parchment paper ahead of time so she wheeled and dealed her way at a local deli an hour before the shower to give her a long sheet for free. ha! Now looking back, we could have easily used regular ol’ parchment paper from the store. I have also used brown craft paper for cheese boards (similar to THIS) and it looks so good and makes for easy clean up.
Food – cheese & meat board // bruschetta // pasta salad // caprese skewers // mini sandwhiches
Dessert – mini cupcakes // custom cookies // macaroons // ombre cake (which i feel like has turned into my signature cake!)
Drinks – Pimp Your Prosecco bar: orange juice // cranberry juice // peach juice // fruit // prosecco
*And my favorite part of the whole party – the floral ice cubes! These were shockingly easy but added so much to the drink bar. I bought a bunch of pink/purple flowers at Trader Joe’s and cut them off the stem and placed them in these ice cube trays and poured water over the top. Then I let those babies freeze over night and voila! You’ve got yourself come fancy looking ice!
After eating and mingling, we did a wine tasting for the shower guests. Molly & Daniel’s wedding was in Italy so we thought it would be a perfect way to get people excited for Tuscany! It ended up being such a fun activity for everyone and honestly I think all of the guests were feeling pretty good by the end of the shower! ha!
