First and foremost, I want to say that yes, I did do a fall photo shoot with Mr. B last year. I’m not ashamed that I treat my dog like a human child. I couldn’t resist. The leaves were so pretty and I couldn’t turn down taking even more pictures of him. Side note: what was I thinking letting his hair get so long??? It’s like he has a whole different personality with this bob. #longhairdontcare
Fall is by far my favorite season. Everything that is good in the world comes with fall – pumpkins, holidays, comfort food, tv shows, scented candles…and the list could go on and on. For every season (well mostly summer and fall), I like to make a to do list if things I want to get done. If I write it down, I hold myself more accountable. So here is my fall to do:
- Pumpkin Patch
It’s a yearly tradition in my family to go to Schaakes Pumpkin Patch. We grab our sonic drinks on the way out and spend most of the afternoon finding the perfect pumpkins. We have to take two cars because not only does my mom hoard belongings, she does the same with pumpkins. Every year I am amazed that we can find over 200 pounds of pumpkins. :0
2. Apple picking + Baked Goods
This one is a two-part to do. I want to go apple picking and then make a sweet with the apples picked. I’ve had my eye on this apple crisp recipe. It’s simple and has double the oats – yes! I’ve never been apple picking before but my friend suggested Cider Hill. I’m going to trick Nick into going. There’s no way he will willingly go on a Sunday (especially if the Steelers are playing).
3. Host a soup party
I love the idea of making homemade bread bowls and serving all different types of soup. I had a soup exchange for Friendsgiving last year and it was a big hit!
Speaking of Friendsgiving, I am planning to host my third annual Friendsgiving party this year. Nick and I are going to Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving this year so I’m excited to be able to decorate and celebrate at home before we leave.
5. Irish Fest
Food // music // drinks // Weston, MO
6. Caramel Apple Sangria
I found this recipe a few months ago and have been dying to make it. It screams fall in a wine glass. What more I could I ask for?!
7. Watch Movies
As silly as this sounds, I look forward fall and winter for the cooler weather and the excuse to stay in and watch movies. The fall movie list stays pretty constant each year: You’ve Got Mail (already have watched it once this fall :)), Father of the Bride, Hocus Pocus, Double Double Toil & Trouble. Okay, so maybe it’s just a list of my favorite movies?
I hope this list inspires you to do something fall-ish over the next few months!
